Important Information!

Transportation

If there is a change in your child’s regular dismissal routine, a note must be sent from you indicating the change or call the office. Do not leave a message about a change on my voicemail or e-mail in case I would not get it by the end of the day. Parent pick up at the end of the day is located at the door by the side parking lot. Dismissal time is 3:25 pm.

Student Supplies

It is helpful for you child to have a plastic pencil box to organize their supplies. A box of 8 crayons will be provided, but children may bring in a larger box (maximum of 24 please). They may also bring a package of thin markers.

CAFTRAC
Students can deposit money in their own CAFTRAC account to cover the cost of lunch or milk for as many days as desired. Send cash or check in an envelope marked with your child’s name, my name- Mrs. Wealand, our room number -202, and the amount enclosed. Checks should be made out to “PSD Cafeteria Account”. Please check out the food services section of Parkland’s website to learn how to manage the CAFTRAC account online. When your child’s account has no money left, a letter will be sent home indicating money is needed. A student’s lunch is $2.45 and a la carte milk is $.50. Please note: first graders cannot buy alternate lunches until October 1st. Your child’s CAFTRAC account may be blocked from buying extra items by writing a note to the cafeteria. Students can buy breakfast for $1.25. A menu can be accessed on the Parkland website and a hard copy will come home on the first day.

Absences

Please notify the absentee hotline, 610-351-5888 ext. 28711 to report your child is absent. Missed work can be sent home with a sibling or neighbor if I am notified. Your child can also wait to make up any work when he/she returns to school. If you are planning a trip, the school must be contacted at least one week prior to it. A Vacation/Emergency permit will be sent home to be completed.

Medications

Our school nurse, Miss Hoffman, will administer all medications. Parents must complete a “Medical Authorization Form” before any medication can be dispensed at school. In addition, parents are required to bring the medication to school. The school nurse should be contacted if your child has any allergies.

Recess

Our class goes out to recess every day. Our playground can be windy, so please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. All children must go outside when weather permits. If your child cannot go outside due to a health reason, a note written by a doctor is necessary.

SWPBS

School Wide Positive Behavior Support (SWPBS) is a school wide behavior plan that focuses on behavior expectations in all aspects of a student's day. This district wide behavior plan teaches students how they should behave, acknowledges them for their behavior, and rewards them for positive behavior.

Students earn a "gotcha" ticket when they are caught being good and demonstrating the qualities of a Champion! These include being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe!

Bark for Birthdays!

Our class would enjoy celebrating this special day with your child. If your child plans to bring in a birthday treat, it should be ready to serve in individual pieces. Please send napkins in with the treat. Watch for information on the snack letter about allergies. Please be mindful as we have nut allergies in our classroom!

Back Packs

  • Antibacterial Wipes/ Baby Wipes

  • Tissues

  • Ziplock Bags (gallon and sandwich sizes)

  • neon colored cardstock paper

  • Glue Sticks

  • Thank you in advance for any donated items! The class will really benefit from your donations!

Woofable wishes!

Please provide your child with a book bag. This helps your child get his/her homework folder, library books, and other things back and forth to school safely. It is important to go through your child’s book bag each day to check his/her B.A.R.K folder. Students will receive this folder on the first day, you DO NOT need to provide one.
