Here at Parkland we use a Standards Based Grading system. This means that we grade our students based on their progress over time. Students are assessed using a 4-3-2-1 scale. Level 1 is Below Basic, Level 2 is Basic, Level 3 is Proficient, and Level 4 is Advanced. Please note that 3 is where we want all students to strive to be (it is the goal)! In order to help you better understand the process, I have posted a few links and an excellent cupcake analogy to understand the different levels.
